BENGALURU: KleverKid, a webbased marketplace to view afterschool and extra-curricular activities for school children, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Aarin Capital, an investment firm set up by Manipal group scion Ranjan Pai and former Infosys director Mohandas Pai.

A group of angel investors including Sunil Kaul of The Carlyle Group, Ananda Kallugadde, CEO of Neobytes and impact investor Maina Sahi also participated. “The biggest concern for young parents is to put their kids in the best, most-suited programmes that will shape their kids for life after school, whether it’s getting into college, becoming an employee or a sportsman,” said Shabnam Aggarwal, founder and chief executive of the Delhibased startup that launched operations in November last year and is active in the Delhi-NCR region alone.

The funds will be used primarily for expansion into Mumbai and Bengaluru in the next two months, and an overall of six Tier-I cities within the year, along with hiring in the new cities.
