Bangalore Chess Academy is THE place for professional chess training in Bangalore. It is the ideal place for young players to learn the secrets of the mind game. The academy was established in 2005 with a mission to provide a platform for the upcoming players to nurture their talents and make a mark in national and international chess. Academy is under guidance and headed by VEDANT GOSWAMI, a seasoned chess player of international repute. Vedant Goswami is an International rated player with more than 25 years playing and training experience right from the district to the international level. Since 2005 the academy has Trained more than 1000 students at it's 6 centers in Bangalore. International Master Vishal Sareen was an active Chess player who took up the game at the age of ten in 1983. He became the Indian Under-15 champion in 1986, and represented India on many occasions thereafter in various International events. He noticed the need for professional chess trainers in India at an early age of 25 years, and took to serious chess training at the onset of 2002. His secret of success has been identifying young talents even when such children have not had any national successes, and mentoring them to highest glories. His proteges include Grandmasters Parimarjan Negi, Abhijeet Gupta, and Sahaj Grover, and WGM Tania Sachdev. More recently, in a span of just one year, he helped Akshayraj Kore become a Grandmaster in February 2013. Vishal Sareen has worked with several world class coaches and players from time to time, enriching his experience and also adapting various methods for continuous progress of the students of the game. His wards include a World Junior Champion and multiple National Champions! The crowing glory of his achievements has been that, the last 3 of the Arjuna Awardees (The second highest sporting award for sportsmen in India) for Chess have all been his students! That is Tania in 2009, Parimarjan in 2010 and Abhijeet in 2013. Sareen possesses special skills in handling young children. His students have won several medals internationally in various age group championships. One of the most notable being Sahaj Grover who was world champion in under-10 age category in 2005. In the World junior championship his students have won Gold, Silver and Bronze – Gupta and Negi finished first and second in 2008 World junior championship while Grover won the Bronze in 2011 championship. The course provided by Sareen will be aimed at providing excellence to every student who joins the academy.
