Rubina Majid, the CEO and Lead trainer at Teaching…Touching a Better Future says, For many children, the school simply doesn't work. Many underprivileged children have found that the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. program fails to educate and prepare them for life.
One of the most memorable achievements by Rubina Majid is the success story of two boys Mahesh and Parvartal, who lost their fathers at an early age and Rubina felt she couldn’t let them go the wrong way. She took care of them and made sure that they were doing the right things so that they would have a better life ahead of them.
Rubina Majid talks about how she met these two really talented kids and helped them grow in life.
The idea was to help children in need as I think that these children are exposed to the harsher realities of life. Underprivileged children lose their right to emotional, physical and social development and are more likely to have depression, low self esteem, lack of sleep and nutrition. They are in this situation because of poverty and their lack of education. This is so unfair and I feel it is my duty to make sure that I do what I can to make sure that they get something good out of the circumstances they are in.
I had some issues with Parvatal who got distracted during his 12th examination, he got into some bad company because of which he failed miserably in his exams, but with some time and councelling he got back on track and cleared his exams with remarkable grades. He now wants to become an engineer and works really hard to make sure that he achieve his dream. I have been his mentor since he was like 6 years old.
I took both Mahesh and Parvatal in my home and kept them as my own. I wanted to give them everything I could in life. And I am glad to see how amazing they are doing now. To see them be successful is the happiest thing of my life. I feel if one wants to do something good, it gets done somehow.
