We all know that keeping kids busy is no small task. Who doesn’t love travelling, or just doing something a tad different on weekends? However, it’s not easy travelling with kids. Here, we have compiled a list of places to visit in Bangalore with your kids, based on the temperament of the children involved. This guide is primarily for kids under five years of age.
For the Easily Bored Toddler:
Toddlers love nothing more than variety every five seconds. A close second come bright lights and colours. While out with a toddler, remember that a long day in the car seat is not their idea of fun.
1. Kidz Adda, Banashankari:
By far the best play area in Bangalore. They also host birthdays and other special events with great aplomb. The toddler can work it out in the Play Gym while older kids explore their many activities.
Address : 2nd Floor, 980, 13th Cross.Road, Thyagaraja Nagar, Banashankari Stage II, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560070.

2. Funky Monkeys, MG Road:
This is again a play area, but close to MG road. Their policy of cleanliness is very rigid which ensures that the little ones don’t catch germs from each other. An adjoining café is a good place for parents to have a sip of coffee. An hour of playing here, followed by ice cream in the mall, and you’re taking home one very happy toddler.
Address: 1 MG Road, Old Madras Rd, Yellappa Chetty Layout, Sivanchetti Gardens, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560001.

For The Active Child:
Active children are a pleasant sight to see! They can run around at the neighbourhood park and not be bored. Tuck these kids into the car and take them to one of these places.
1. Guhantara Cave Resort:
Just on the fringes of the city, on Kanakapura road is Bangalore’s only cave themed attraction. A day here comprises of splashing in the pool, rain dancing, outdoor games and good food.

2. Giraias Explorium, Domlur:
Touted as one of the largest play areas ever built, this place has something for everyone. It is fast gaining popularity as a go-to destination for a full day of fun. Indeed, an hour or two wouldn’t be sufficient to explore all of it.

For The Observant Little One:
Is your child the silent kind- the one who likes to observe and learn? Then these places are just for him/ her.
1. The Martin Farm, near Bellandur:
This place is for kids to spend a day in the company of well-trained animals. At its best, it is a wonderful way of teaching our little ones about nature and all the lovely animals and plants that coexist with us.
Address: 33, Sarjapur Road, Carmelaram Post, Chikkabellandur, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560035
2. Lalbagh Botanical Gardens:
Acres and acres of open space, a lake, birdsong, flowers and cool breeze make Lalbagh a must visit with observant little children. Even the most reticent ones will just love to run around here. The slightly older kids will love the plants on display in the bonsai garden. Don’t be surprised if you soon have a bonsai enthusiast in the house.
