Here are 10 art projects to bring out the creative side of your kids, and will lead you to believe that every child is, indeed, an artist.   


1. The Cut-Out Project

Things you will need:

. Craft paper

. Scissors 

. Glue

.  Paint


  • Draw any image on a craft paper and paint it, be as creative as you can.
  • Cut out the picture in several pieces, and arrange them on a chart paper. Glue the pieces, and your masterpiece is ready!


2.  The decorative clay project

Things you will need:

. Clay

. Decoration material (sequence, ribbons, etc.)

. Other art supplies



  • Mould the clay into any shape or picture you like and add details.
  • Decorate it with different decoration material before the clay dries.
  • You can also add a hook/ stand at the back, to display your work of art easily!


3. The Food Chain Art Project

Things you will need

  • Craft paper
  • Scissors
  •  Glue
  • Pencil
  • Erasers


  • Choose one of your favourite food chains, and draw the animals on paper, in increasing order of size, and cut them out.
  • Cut out eyes, teeth, noses, from another piece of paper.
  • Paste the above cut-outs appropriately on a fresh piece of paper.


4. The peacock project

Things you will need:

  • Craft paper
  • Paints / crayons / sketch pens 
  • Glue
  • Scissors


  • On a piece of paper, draw or paint anything you like (try keeping it colourful).
  • Cut out pieces from the paper in the shape of feathers.
  • Glue the ‘feathers’ on another piece of paper, and draw the remaining peacock with a sketch pen.


5. The naming project

Things you will need: 


  • Write your name with a pencil on a piece of coloured paper.
  • Use decoration material of your choice to decorate it, and try to make your design describe who you are!


6. The' Together We Can' Project

Things you will need:

  • Craft paper
  • Cardboard
  • Paints, crayons, sketch pens, etc.


  • Mount craft paper on cardboard, and give different cut outs to different kids (can also be done by a kid alone).
  • Give them a topic to draw, and see them come up with new and innovative ideas.
  • Place all the cut outs together, to get a beautiful work of art!
